Rika Salon: The Uluwatu Spot Locals Book Before the Tourists Find It
If someone told you to go to Rika Salon and you’re now Googling to check it’s the real thing — yes, this is us. The sign says Rika Beauty & Spa, everyone calls it Rika, and word of mouth is usually how people find us.
We don’t do billboards. We do the same regulars every week and their friends, and their friends’ friends, and eventually someone from a villa in Ungasan messages saying “my neighbour said to ask for the same girl she gets.” That’s the whole marketing strategy.
Here’s what we actually are.
What We Do
Massage. Balinese, deep tissue, aromatherapy, hot stone, reflexology, four-hands — plus our Signature Surf Massage, built for paddled-out shoulders. From Rp 200K. Sixty or ninety minutes. Surfers get the deep tissue; everyone else usually ends up on the Balinese.
Spa packages. Scrub, mask, massage, shower, tea, and no rushing. The full two-hour version is what people book on rest days.
Facials. Deep cleanse, hydrating, brightening, LED light therapy. Built for what Bali’s climate and your zinc sunscreen do to your face.
Nails. Manicure, pedicure, gel, art. Gel is what survives salt water — worth knowing if you’re in the ocean twice a day.
Waxing and lashes. The maintenance you’d do at home, done here for a fraction of it.
Duck diving loads the same structures under compression. Popping up fires the lower back. Lying on the board hyperextends your lumbar spine for however long you’re out there.
Add a staircase — Padang’s, Bingin’s, Impossibles’ long walk — and your calves and hip flexors join the queue.
That’s why a general relaxing massage sometimes doesn’t touch it. You need someone working the specific tissue that surfing loads.
Where We Are
Jl. Raya Uluwatu No. 75X, Ungasan — on the main road, in front of Tarabelle. A short ride from Padang Padang, Bingin, Balangan, Melasti and the temple. Scooter parking out front, findable by car, open every day 9am-9pm.
The main room is open-air with glass on two sides — plants, breeze, road going past, and somehow after five minutes you stop hearing any of it. The treatment rooms behind are air-conditioned, private, and cool enough to actually fall asleep in. Several people do, every day.
Who Comes In
Surfers off the morning session at Bingin or Impossibles, sandy and wrecked, straight in for deep tissue on the shoulders.
Villa guests from Ungasan and the cliffs, usually on a weekly standing booking, usually with a preferred therapist they will not swap.
Couples who’ve realised a two-hour spa package is a better date than a fourth sunset cocktail at a place with a queue.
Digital nomads unwinding necks that spent all day at a café table pretending to work.
People flying tonight with a noon checkout and eight hours to fill. This is the best possible use of that gap.
Why People Come Back
Honestly: consistency. Same therapists, week after week. They remember your shoulder. They remember that you like it strong, or that you don’t. They know which pressure to use on a fresh sunburn without you having to explain.
We keep things clean — fresh linens every client, proper sterilisation on nail tools, products that aren’t watered down. None of that should be remarkable, and yet.
And nobody upsells you. If you book sixty minutes, you get a proper sixty minutes and nobody spends the last ten trying to convert you to a package.
A Good Day That Includes Us
Surf at dawn. Breakfast bowl and coffee — The Cashew Tree in Bingin, Suka Espresso, Drifter, whichever’s on your side of the hill. Ride over here around eleven when the sun turns unpleasant. Ninety-minute massage plus a scrub. Shower, tea, sit for a bit.
Back out around two feeling suspiciously good. Nap. Then Uluwatu Temple for the Kecak at sunset, dinner in Ungasan, and to bed like a person who has their life sorted.

Walk in if you’re passing and we’ve got space — often we do, especially mornings and early afternoons.
Message ahead for late afternoon, weekends, couples’ rooms, or anything over ninety minutes. Those go first, particularly in high season.
Standing bookings are available if you’re on the Bukit for a while. Same slot, same therapist, every week. It’s the best thing you can do for a long stay.
Come sandy. Come sunburnt. Come straight off the plane. We’ll sort it out.
