Bali is hard on feet. Scooter days, volcanic sand, reef walks, flip-flops from morning to midnight — most people arrive on the Bukit with a decent pedicure and leave a fortnight later needing another one. Rika Beauty & Spa sits right on Jl. Raya Uluwatu in Ungasan, a few minutes from Bingin, Balangan, Padang Padang and Pecatu, and our spa pedicure is the treatment guests rebook most.
Our nail technicians — Ocha has been doing feet on the Bukit for three years and guests ask for her by name — work through the
same sequence every time:
Warm soak. Ten minutes with Balinese sea salt to soften everything up. This is the part people skip at home and it’s the part that
makes the rest work.
No clifftop mark-up. These are Ungasan prices, and they’re the same whether you’re a resident or you flew in yesterday.
Honest answer: gel, almost always. Bali runs at 75–85% humidity and you will be in and out of salt water. Regular polish on toes
lasts three or four days here before it chips at the edges. Gel holds for two to three weeks, survives the ocean, and doesn’t need
drying time — which matters if you’re heading straight to dinner.
The exception is a flight home in the next 48 hours. If you want a colour change before you land, regular polish is easier to remove
yourself.
We stock over 100 colours, including builder gel and cat-eye finishes
Ocha has worked at Rika since 2023 and she shows up by name in our reviews more than anyone else — for pedicures, for waxing,
and more recently for lymphatic drainage. Guests who come back to Uluwatu every year book her specifically. If you want her, say so
when you message us and we’ll try to hold the slot.
